PALMA CEIA WEST - With the aim to replace the ceiling and light fixtures, the Charles J. Fendig Library, 3909 W. Neptune St., will partially close beginning today.
While sections of the library collection will be inaccessible to the public until Sept. 7, library staff will be able to help.
"The majority of the library will be open in the next three weeks," said Suzy George, manager of capital projects for the county's libraries. "Staff will help retrieve books in areas undergoing work on the lighting."
The entire library will close Aug. 18 through Sept. 7, re-opening on Sept. 8 at noon.
George recommends patrons use other nearby libraries including John F. Germany Library, 900 N. Ashley Drive; Jan K. Platt Regional Library, 391 S. Manhattan Ave.; and Port Tampa City Library, 4902 Commerce St.
