TAMPA HEIGHTS - Don't have time to wash your dog, clean its ears and clip its nails?
The Tampa Heights Civic Association and the Tampa Heights Junior Civic Association can help. The organizations are hosting a dog wash - called "Come Bark in My Park" - from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Water Works Park, 1710 N. Highland Ave.
The cost is $5 for a small dog, $7 for a medium and $10 for a large dog.
The event is to help increase awareness of the community and the associations. The money raised will be used to host the neighborhood's second annual pumpkin patch, set for October. The event is geared toward kids, with pumpkins, a band playing children's music and a costume contest.
Along with dog washing, there will be vendors offering samples and tips on dog food and treats, training and grooming.
There also will be a water taxi to give people tours of the Hillsborough River, said Gail Smiley-Dixon, the event's organizer.
