Costumed canines set tails wagging at Hyde Park Village

Dog owners dressed their canines in Halloween fashions for the 8th annual pet parade hosted by The Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

TAMPA - "I believe in dog," read the sticker on the child's red wagon.

The wagon's cargo put that statement beyond any doubt – a coterie of costumed Chihuahuas.

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay's eighth annual Pet Masquerade set tails and tongues wagging Saturday at Hyde Park Village in South Tampa. More than 60 dogs competed in categories including most original and funniest.

There was Blaze, a greyhound dressed as a Greyhound bus, right down to the driver's cap and driver's license. Blaze was tasked with pulling the wagon.

Becka, an English bulldog dressed in cheerleader garb, came as a "cheerless bull leader."

Lyric, a Shih Tzu, wore an astronaut's uniform.

And don't forget the Scottish terrier dressed in a bee costume. At the other end of the leash? The dog's owner, dressed as a beekeeper.
