Thursday

Go aboard if you dare

The SS American Victory Ship transforms itself into a Halloween Ghost Ship, from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Tour the recesses of the restored World War II Liberty Ship to see what goes bump in the night. The event features ghost hunters Paranormal Extreme and Florida Paranormal Research, who will take guests on ghost investigations.

In addition, a kid-friendly Spooktacular is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, featuring fun and games on the Ghost Ship.

Admission to the nighttime Ghost Ship is $20, and the Spooktacular is $5 for kids and $10 for adults. Tickets may be purchased by calling 1-866-468-7630, by logging onto ticketweb.com, or on board the American Victory, moored at 705 Channelside Drive.

Friday

Freakiest show on earth

The 12th annual 13 Ugly Men Halloween Freakshow takes possession of the Sheraton Riverwalk Hotel, 200 N. Ashley Drive, from 8 p.m. Friday to the wee hours.

The Freakshow allows partygoers to enjoy a poolside atmosphere and Tampa skyline while showcasing their creative costumes.

Admission is $15 for women and $25 for men online; $25 for women and $35 for men at the door; or $500 for a VIP table. Go to 13uglymen.com.

Saturday

Pet-friendly event

Enjoy contests, prizes, demonstrations and a fun day in the park with your dog at the Stride for Strays Walkathon, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Al Lopez Park, 4810 N. Himes Ave., Tampa.

The one-mile walk is open to any animal lover who wants to raise money to end pet overpopulation. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome. Animal rescue groups will be on hand, along with pet-friendly vendors. Minimum donation is $15, with proceeds benefiting the ACT Spay/Neuter Clinic.

Sunday

It's fiesta time
Conga Caliente returns to Tampa at 11 a.m. Sunday at Al Lopez Park, 4810 N. Himes Ave., Tampa. The free event promotes Hispanic diversity and culture and features live entertainment, youth area, Hispanic food, domino tournament, cigar area and a day of family fun.

The force at the Forum

"Star Wars in Concert" plays the St. Pete Times Forum, 401 Channelside Drive, at 4 p.m. Sunday.

The multimedia event features music from all six of John Williams' epic "Star Wars" scores. Narrated live by Anthony Daniels (the voice of C-3PO), the production features a full symphony orchestra and choir accompanied by specially edited footage from the films displayed on a huge LED screen.

Accompanying the concert is an exhibit of "Star Wars" costumes, props, production artwork and more.

Tickets are $32.25, $52.25 and $72.25, and are available at the box office or by calling Ticketmaster at (813) 287-8844. For information, go to starwarsinconcert.com.
